Summer Bucket List Part 1

Something that I've been thinking about recently is what makes me happy and fulfilled. And I found out a big part of that is goals and doing things I've always wanted to try - not that they have to be really big things (like skydiving...still yet to be done!) but either way, that is what makes me happy and content with my life.

Tone It Up came out with the idea of a #createyoursummer bucket list. So I got to it. I put it on Instagram, but could only fit like 5 or 6 things in the picture.

Side Note: a fun fact about me is that I love lists! I love putting all my ideas down and being able to organize and check them off....at least ideally - I won't talk about how little much actually gets done off them usually. But anyway! Naturally a summer bucket list is the best idea. It's the ultimate Try-It-Tuesday! ;)

So here it is in (almost) all it's glory. My 51 item summer bucket list [I left 2 out ;)] :

1. Road Trip

2. Skinny Dipping

3. Campfire and S'mores

4. Outdoor Amusement Park (which makes me wish I lived in Utah by Lagoon - seriously so fun!)

5. Camping

6. Sparklers on Canada Day

7. Beach Day - Sandcastle making is a must.

8. Concert

Backstreet Boys: Check

9. Half Marathon - *SeaWheeze*

10. Boating on the lake....anyone have a boat?? I'll make you cookies!

Plus I've always wanted to learn to wakeboard! So seriously...someone let me know if you have a boat!

11. Pool Party

How sweet would it be to put glowsticks in the bottom of a pool!?

12. Hike

13. Make fresh Lemonade

                                                                   Recipe here.

14. Buy fresh flowers - I'm sure you know how much I love flowers as seen here, here, and here.

15. Buy flowers for someone else

16. Drive-In-Theatre

Does anyone know of one? I pretty sure there isn't one in the city, but I'm willing to travel ;)

17. Shakespeare in the Park

18. Tie-Dye

19. Movies on the Square

20. Stargaze

21. BBQ

22. Bowling (preferably glow-in-the-dark)

23. Volunteer (Mustard Seed anyone??)

24. Read "Classic Love Stories"

25. Beach Volleyball

Sorry to leave you hanging, but PART 2 will come out very soon! Keep your eyes peeled! ;)

HAPPY SUMMER!!!

Best Travel Movies!

Hola mi amigos!

It's been a looong time since I've done a travel post, but recently I've felt inspired! The other day, I decided to search Google for the "Best Travel Movies," and this post came up. He listed 25 of his favourite ones. So, since I've had some extra time on my hands the last few days (which should really be used for studying), I decided to watch a few. I watched A Good Year, which I would give a 3.5/5. It was good and had beautiful scenery, but didn't hold my attention as much as others. You can watch the trailer here though and decide for yourself!

Another one I watched was A Map for Saturday. I loved this one! It's a documentary showing the ups and downs of backpacking life. It's so real and made me want to go backpacking even more! This guy quits his job in New York and goes travelling by himself for 11 months. So rad and so inspiring. You can watch the trailer here:

I tried to embed the actual video on my blog, but couldn't, so here's a link to watch it! Do it and you won't regret it! I promise.

Let me know if you like it below or if you have any comments! Did you end up watching A Good Year? If so, let me know what you think!

A Little Road Trip and my Favourite Five!

Hello lovely people!!

Hope those of you who have Reading Week right now are living it up! I love not having to worry about school (for the most part....I have 2 take home exams to write, but their really not that bad)! I went to Calgary for the weekend to visit my beautiful aunt and uncle! They are so kind. And hospitable...I love that word for some reason, haha. We all just relaxed together. I got to sleep in, and they made me breakfast (seriously soooo great!), and then we did things like watch movies and sports, go hot tubbing, go to church and hold cute babies, and shopping! It was honestly so relaxing! I'm so grateful. I totally felt lazy though! I'm so not used to it. I always had this nagging feeling that I should be helping to make dinner, and clean up breakfast, and do other things, but for the most part it was already taken care of! That's what happens when there's two momma's in one kitchen! I did try to help out a bit though. Anyway, here's a few photo's from my trip!

As we were driving down, we saw the most beautiful harvest moon! It was big, bright orange and just above the horizon....not that you can tell from this picture. It sort of looked like this, just with a darker background.

On our drive to church, we saw those gorgeous mountains! I seriously love them! And the clear blue sky! Ah, I feel so blessed!

While we were shopping, my Dad and I stopped at La Prep for lunch. Oh my! It was delicious!! I couldn't even finish it all, but I seriously wanted to! Those salads were so fresh, and the panini was so savoury. :)

I had fun at CrossIron Mills ;)

My Aunt made the tastiest salad when we came home from shopping!! Candied pecans, strawberries, blueberries, romaine lettuce, with a poppyseed dressing.

We had it with super delicious chicken!

And then, sadly, we said goodbye. :( It was beautiful there though! Those mountains!! Ah, I'm in love with them.

While we were driving out of Calgary, I saw this sign, and it made me smile! I'm glad that people advertise doing good things for others. I know I forget to sometimes when I get so busy!

And before we left, we had to stop at Peter's Drive-In...obvs. It's tradition!

Love it here.

Feel free to watch this riveting round of Head's Up! But seriously though, I LOVE this game! And you gotta give my mom props, she rocked it!

BUT ANYWAY!! Hopefully you didn't get bored of my Calgary photos. It's time for my favourite five!! Woooo!

Favourite Quote:

I don't know the Bible as well as I'd like to, but I do love this scripture. Just trust. :) God has your best interests at heart.

Favourite Truth:

Seriously me sometimes! Haha.

Favourite Treat:

Okay guys, c'mon, how dang good do these sound?! Reese's White Chocolate Brownie Whoopie Pies. Almost as good as these Red Velvet Cheesecake Pancakes! OR these too. :) Find the recipe here

Favourite Man Outfit:

This guy looks fantastic! All I have to say is that more men should dress like this. Or at least get a fitted suit. I think I speak for all women when I say, a fitted suit is dannng attractive.

Favourite Kitchen:

Beauty! A girl can dream, right?

Hope you all are doing well!! Thanks for taking the time to stop by! You are all beautiful people!

Love,

Lo

A Little Change...

Hello my friends!

I hope that you've been enjoying my blog so far! It's already been 3 months since I started! Crazzy! I sincerely appreciate all your support! I writing this blog. I really have loved sharing health tips, trying new things, and laughing at internet pranks (seriously, some people are flippen hilarious!). I feel like so much has happened since my first post!

I've been doing some thinking lately though. As much as I love posting each day, I've had a hard time giving meaningful content lately. Maybe it's because I was feeling super ambitious in November. Or maybe it's because I didn't have a job, or a full course load. Either way I don't feel that I'm giving you lovely people all that I can when I have other things on my plate, such as school, church, work, social life, etc...SO, I've decided to make a little change to the way things are run around here. I hope you'll still stay with me! I've decided to narrow down how much I post each week.

I know it's important in blogging to be consistent with your posts. So from now on, every week will look like this:

Tuesday: Try-It-Tuesday

Wednesday: My Favourite Five

Friday: Fit Friday

That's not to say that I'll never make a travel post ever again, or share the talents of various pranksters around the world (because that would just be sad) - but it will be less often. I also hope to travel more, that way when I DO make posts, they'll have my heart and soul in them. I'll show you personal tips and experiences.

So my lovely friends, I hope you keep reading along! You mean the world to me! Love you all!

Lo

New York, New York!

Reading Week is coming up! That means 5+ glorious days of no school! So yeah, I'm pretty stoked. Today, I was thinking of places to go. I want it to be somewhere close-ish, not super expensive, and somewhere that you can see a lot of it in just a week. My two ideas are Mexico and New York. I've been to Mexico twice already, and I wouldn't complain to go there! (Sign me up for a tan), I just want to go some place new! After all, that was one of my new years resolutions. So, I figured now's a good time as ever! Plus, it's on my life Bucket List to go for a run in Central Park!

When I think of New York, this is what I think of:

King Kong

Topper

How to Marry a Millionaire

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Elf

You've Got Mail

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Step Up 3D

The Great Gatsby, and

Mr. Popper's Penguins

I also think of Broadway shows, Rockefeller Plaza, The Mindy Project, the Empire State Building, good eats, and cute streets.

So, since I have never been to New York, I'm hoping those of you who have could give me some tips and tricks! Which hotel did you stay in, and did you like it? What are the best shows you saw? Where is the best place to eat? What was your favourite part of being there?

Ready, Set, Go! :)
